High voltage transmission lines (110kV and above):
The insulation support between the overhead line conductor and the iron tower, commonly including suspension insulator strings (such as porcelain, glass, or composite insulators), is suitable for long-distance power transmission.
Ultra high voltage direct current/alternating current transmission (such as ± 800kV, 1000kV):
Specially designed insulators are required to cope with extremely high voltage and electromagnetic environments.
2. Power distribution system
Medium and low voltage distribution lines (10kV~35kV):
The wires supporting distribution lines are commonly made of needle insulators or column insulators.
Substation equipment:
Used for insulation support of transformers, circuit breakers, isolating switches and other equipment to prevent the equipment casing from being electrified.
3. Railway and transportation system
Electrified railway overhead contact system:
Support the wires of the overhead contact system to ensure insulation of the electric locomotive power supply system (such as rod insulators).
Subway/Light Rail Power Supply System:
Isolate live rails from supporting structures in tunnel or elevated environments.
