Mechanical support and connection function
Load bearing capacity
The metal steel foot serves as the base of the insulator, directly bearing the weight of the conductor, mechanical tension, and external environmental loads (such as wind load, ice and snow). Its high-strength steel (such as 40Cr, 20MnTiB) ensures no deformation or fracture under extreme working conditions.
Structural connection hub
The upper end is connected to the insulator porcelain/glass piece through a ball head or groove structure, and the lower end is fixed to the tower cross arm through a flange. Specially designed flexible joints (such as ball joint structures) can compensate for installation angle deviations and reduce mechanical stress concentration.
Dynamic stability enhancement
In ultra-high voltage transmission lines, the damping structure of steel feet can suppress resonance caused by conductor dancing, and installing friction dampers can reduce amplitude by more than 60%.
